7/22/08: I think I can say it starts getting better after this strip. I include the crap to show a progression, or evolution, if there is to be one.

I've been told this "joke" requires explanation. When the fish says, "Something's not right," you're supposed to think that the fact that there's a fish protruding from a man's ears is what's "not right." In the last panel, the fish reveals that what was wrong was that he was facing the "wrong" direction. As for the middle panel, the guy wakes up briefly as the fish shifts his body around. He is completely oblivious to the presence of the fish. The middle panel could easily have been cut from the strip. Ideally, all of the panels should be cut from this strip.
